Tilerdle Game Guide

Welcome to Tilerdle!

New to Tilerdle? You're in for a treat. Each puzzle is a small crossword-shaped pile of letter tiles, scattered across the board. Slide and rotate them until the connector edges line up and spell the day's themed words.

Tilerdle is designed to be figured out, not guessed at — Wordle-style colour feedback is there to help you reason about which letter goes where, one tile at a time.

How to Play: Controls and Rules

Drag a tile to move it across the board. Released tiles snap to the nearest grid cell.
Tap a tile (without dragging) to rotate it 90°. Tap again to keep turning until the letters line up the way you want.
Tiles meet on dashed edges. When two tiles connect along a row or column, every cell in that run lights up with letter feedback.

What the colours mean

Once two tiles touch on a dashed connector, the cells along that run colour themselves the same way Wordle does — with one extra shade for tiles that can't start a word.

  • Right letter, right slot
  • Right letter, wrong slot
  • Letter not in this word
  • Tile can't lead this word

Tracking what is NOT possible is often the key to finding what is. A red leading tile, for example, instantly rules that tile out as a row-start.

A daily ritual

One puzzle a day, themed.

A new Tilerdle board ships every midnight Eastern. Every puzzle is built around a theme — a connecting idea behind the words you're spelling. Solve the day's board, then come back tomorrow.

  • Mon & Tue: friendly warm-ups
  • Wed & Thu: midweek twists
  • Fri & Sat: longer themes
  • Sun: the weekly challenge
